Born Ajogwu Boluwatife Vincent, Major AJ is a Nigerian Afro-fusion artist whose sound is shaped by a rich blend of Afrobeats, hip-hop, and the diverse cultural influences of his upbringing across Benue, Niger, Kwara, Ogun, and Lagos States. Raised in a military household, his musical journey began in the church choir before evolving into a passion for songwriting and performance.
While studying Computer Science at the University of Ilorin, Major AJ honed his craft, drawing inspiration from artists such as Lil Wayne and Ice Prince. His growing reputation on campus saw him headline notable events including the Dremo Campus Tour, Trybe Ark Fest, and the Ilorin Walk on Water Fashion Show, establishing him as one of the city’s most promising emerging talents.
